Present

NORAD Tracks Santa reported that Santa was back at the North Pole, so it seemed safe to go out for a run.  We didn't wear our headlamps as it was starting to get light.  George had 9 planned, so he saw me over the bridge and asked me if I wanted to follow him into the trails.  I wanted to, but thought for a quick second I didn't really know what I had in me today, so we parted ways.

As I ran, I remembered as a kid leaving Miller Lite and Saltines with the plastic wrapped type cheese out for Santa. I don't know why this popped in my head, but it made me laugh inside.  I bet my father enjoyed that little snack.  My mind just continued on of so many wonderful Christmas memories and joy.  Although I know my parents scrimped and saved for presents for us, I can't remember a one, but only remember the happiness of the day.  As I continued to relive so many Christmas memories, I didn't even realize it had begun to snow.  I looked down and the white snowflakes on my fleece just made me smile.

Running was great today and effortless.  I probably got in five to six and I consider it a great Christmas present to myself.  I found peace, joy and happiness throughout.

Wishing y'all the merriest of merry and joy throughout the day ahead.  If you're able to get out and run today, I hope you also consider it a great present to yourself.

Not a creature was stirring...

We got out early this morning.  With Jedi leading the way, we hit a bit of trail to go over the super neat bridge as the lake/rocks were iced over.  The only thing of note other than awesome was interestingly enough there was only one star in the sky...ummmm.  I headed home so I could shower and sign on to work and George continued on.  As I arrived home, could it be, that one star was twinkling.  Perfect!

Wishing you a day of twinkling stars, it's just too good!

What do you have in your hands now?

After diddling around far to long this morning, I got out for a run.  Pep is still among the missing, but it was really nice out.  Surprisingly, the lake was high, so I circled back and used the awesome new bridge the snowmobilers built.

While running up the hill, a car passed me and stopped on their way heading down.  They said to me, ''we thought you might wonder why we were driving up your street.''  I told them I wasn't. I went on to explain, '' I live on the other side and I figured you were looking at the house for sale up there.''  Don't ask me why I felt the need to explain, but I did. In my head,  I had already figured it out and didn't really need to know anything else.  They explained to me they thought people maybe looking for answers from God because of the recent events and handed me a pamphlet.  I took it and was interested to see if it did have the answers.  I anxiously read it while I continued on, disappointed to find no answers but an advertisement to buy a book from their religious organization.

I continued to ponder and read as I ran still hoping I would find something.  I heard George call out to me, ''what do you have in your hands now?''  He got home from work as I was out and must changed quickly and got out.  I told him what I had and told him to beware, they were going to get him too.  We decided his response would be he didn't need the paper or any answers because he was a Jedi.  He didn't end up seeing them.

Onward and upward.

Snokas

The Hokas have a great grip in the snow!

I got out for my usual super early, still dark up and around and Pace.  It was beautiful out.  Although difficult to see with the headlamp and snow falling...ahhhhh....so nice!

Hope ya'll get to enjoy some new snow running, it's a great way to start the week.

Pep

If I was baking instead of running, I was missing the baking powder. Pep was the main ingredient lacking in my run today.

Before heading out, I went through Jamie's blog roll as I usually do.  I read Danielle's blog and she wrote about the recent events in such a thoughtful way.  I read over my latest post which was probably written just as events were unfolding on Friday.  It seems unimaginable in a few short moments, I would be reading on FB something so horrific was happening.

Today's run lacked pep.  But that's ok.

Hello Love!

Three minutes before leaving work yesterday I received an email ''need for a meeting tomorrow'', ick.  Sure I could have blown it off, but I had good stuff to share.  :)  Thank you at home access.

As George headed out this morning, I fired it up and compiled an email, so I could start the cleansing process.  We agreed, he would meet up with me at some point.  I finished up and headed out, I continued sorting through the week in my head.   As I made it to the other and went up the hill heading down the road I bumped into George!    He took the lead, using hand signals we weaved our way through the trails.  Soon my work angst disappeared to what I love.  GREAT run weaving and following and feeling strong!

Do what you love, love what you do.  Yep!

Then there were no stars

I got out this morning early.  It was quite dark.  I figured it was cloudy.  Half way through my run I looked up and there were stars.  What a nice surprise.  As I ended my run, they were gone, so guessing it is cloudy now!

Temp was awesome as was the run.  After a Tree Trimming weekend of family and friends in MA, it was nice to get out this morning to peace and stillness.  We were sad to miss the TMR event and miss all that awesomeness, but yesterday ended in the excitement of the MMT lottery drawing with George, Ian, Bob and Tom Page getting in.  It's exciting to see everyone getting excited and training for events once again.

Wishing you a day of lucky stars!  As they say this time of year, Believe.

A follower

I'm lucky my New York based boss has allowed me some flexibility working although PTO isn't allowed this month.  So today found me adjusting my work with George's schedule and getting out with him again.

Lately, I've tended to do my usual routes and paths, but with a Jedi in the lead going off the beaten path is a given.  I weebled and wobbled as I did my best to keep up on the first of the year frozen trails.  At times I found myself  ''intensly thinking'' and slipping behind,  but would then see George circling back for me.  This would make me smile inside.  It was quite cool to see the snowmobilers were out working on the trails and we were happily surprised to see a pretty impressive bridge.

A great run following and exploring!

Wishing you all a fun filled following type of day!

Following a Jedi

Although I got up super early, I went to bed super early, so all was well.  I signed on a bit and worked and headed out around 4:30.  I was pleased George's work schedule allowed him to run with me this morning.

The beam on the head lamp is great and I kept him in my field of vision the whole run.  The air was crisp, the run was great!  The last half mile, he said, ''hang tough and run it in strong.''  I did exactly  that!  I'm thankful for a bit of speed work and of course his company in the dark, along with him not letting me dilly dally.  Luckily we were back before what seemed to be an earthquake.

Have a great day and remember to hang tough throughout your day.  You'll be a better person for it!

Snowflakes

George convinced me not to set my alarm last night which was I good move. When I'm not working, I need to remember if I'm sleeping a bit later, I must need it.

I had a short window of time to get out and run.  Christmas Craft Fairs were waiting for me.

It felt great to be out.  Since my focus was running, not much dreaming occurred.  I hit the start of a few snowflakes and at one point looked down and was happily surprised to see tiny white snowflakes against my black pants and red fleece.  It made me so happy!

Right after that moment of happiness, I heard a little grunt and a tiny pugish, probably bulldog was at my heels.  A flash of a second happening, but in my mind for some reason, I saw him run off with a tiny Santa hat on his head.  Of course, this wasn't the case, but that was my dreaming moment.

Totally grateful for stepping out the door to a happy world!

Wishing you all a the same!  Happy Dec 1st!
